Sadly, I'm giving up on my trusty 940 wagon. Had an accident and bent the drivers side control arm. It's an $80 part and my dealer parts guy says the car will probably drive straight if I change it. There is a slight chance the shock tower is also bent but I wouldn't know until I throw on a new tire and fixed the arm, and I'm not going to because I just found a 95 940 wagon with 67K miles on it.
So, it's time for this one to live on in pieces, unless someone wants the whole thing. With the wheel work mentioned above, a new drivers side fender, and some work or the rear pass side quarter, this would be a decent driver again.Just let me know what you folks need. I'm located a hair west of Chicago. Here goes; Silver 940 non-turbo wagon, black seats, dark gray carpet, sunroof(just recently stopped working) 186K miles. Damage to drivers front quarter and pass rear quarter. Runs great. I've put 45K miles on it in the 5 years I've had it. Driven every day. Did the T belt at 170k. The entire drive train is perfect. I always thought the suspension was pretty good...until I test drove the one I just bought. Yes, 100K extra miles will make a suspension feel 'softer'. Go figure. The car doesn't wander. It's just not as tight as it could be. Black leather seats are better than average for their age. Carpets are quite nice, I took them all out this summer and power washed them. Good glass but windshield does have a very small but stable chip(3 yrs old now and has not grown.) Cold A/C, all the doors are solid. Good inside door panels, except for drivers side. Front right and rear left fenders are healthy. Car is silver colored. Write with your needs. I'll get pics together in a day or two. Make reasonable offers and I'll respond reasonably.
