Klaus, I am open to all ideas on this one. I checked AT and engine oil.. All at the correct level. 500 miles ago the Bevel gear was drained and filled with new volvo spec fluid. I watched the drain and new fluid fill.
I do plan on dropping the shield and checking the BG fluid level.
I also thought BG when I first heard it.... However it seems you can make the noise speed up faster than the power train is picking (RPM) up with applied throttle. Also, I would think the noise would be worse with warm oil (??) and yet the noise (so far) goes completely away when the car reach full operating Temp.(same position and stable on temp gage).
If you then apply heavy throttle up to full tubo load...... all is quiet and smooth from dead stop to cruising speeds.
Keep the ideas comming, I will re-check level and cleanliness of the BG oil.
Thx.
