Hi Everyone!
You all have given me such great advise in thee past. I hope you can help me this time.
I sold my 1999 Volvo Cross Country AWD to my dad. I had purchased it used so I only had one key. My dad can't live with just one key. He does not care about the remote.
I called the local Volvo dealership and they wanted around $140!!! $60 for the key and ~$80 for the programming. WHAT???!!! I called the indy Volvo mechanic he said basically the same thing. It's supposed to be due to the transponder and the need to program the car to the new key.
So, my head is spinning 'cause my dad is not going to be happy with the price!!!
I read several key replacement posts which were dated 2003. Those posts did not have what I wanted to hear!
Are there any new alternatives to the dealership? Has anyone gotten a replacement key at a dealership for a better price?
Thank you in Advance!
Thank you!
Robin
