After several trips so far, the CEL stays off so I assume it solves the issue. By taking Klaus' suggestion to soaking the old sensor with PBBlaster for a couple of nights, I finished the job in the matter of a few minutes. Actually, it took longer to unplug the old sensor due to the very tight room. One note. The old and new sensors both were made by Denso. So, Denso is the OEM for the 99 V70, non-turbo at least.
