Need S80 Buying Advice

Long time (20 years) Volvo RWD driver. Not very familiar with the newer FWD models.
Local used car lot has a 2005 S80 T5 with 60k miles. Might be interested in trading in my 940.
Would welcome any general advice from S80 owners on whether this is a good model/year, what reliability experience you have had, what to look out for etc.
Thanks,

Kev

I'll put in my 2 cents worth. The 2005 is pretty good, especially with the T5 engine. The T6 is to be avoided at all cost. The T6 has twin turbos and generates much too much heat, frying the electronics.
If there is maint hist, read it! If not, question why. Some S80 owners are very happy, others think they are just money pits. The electronics are mind boggling!! Open the fuse box on the 940, then find the 3 fuse boxes on the S80...

Thanks Klaus. The electronics comment worries me a little. My 945 has been mechanically excellent, not one major issue. All the issues I have had have been electrical so multpiplying the electrical complexity by 3 or whatever does not thrill me.

Then again, all new cars have 100 fuses. It is just those with multiple turbos that have engine compartment heat issues.
