last visit: Fri Nov 20 17:48 CST 2009[RELATED]The sealer is not required but I put a very thin film of RTV on mine when I replace them just to hold the gasket in place . As you will see there is a considerable amount of manipulating around other things to get the water pump in place due to the confined space and it is very easy to knock the gasket off of the locater pegs.
