850 GLT AC Compressor Clutch- "Bread Clip Fix' 850

I am reposting this message because the responses "danced" around my original request. This "fix" has been posted here and at other Volvo Sites and has been met with great success. However there are not specific posts as to 1.) Where "exactly to place the shims" on the AC clutch, and where "exactly" to measure the "gap" with a feeler gauge. Also Placement of a bonding agent "exact" placement on the shim, one side both sides, etc. finally the shape of the "Shim". I also requested someone post photos so 850 Owners if they chose to utilize this procedure would have a better understanding of the process. There is an indepth photo guide on one of the other Volvo message boards that provides the detail to replace the shims on the shaft behind the ac cltuch-this procedure requires removal of the clutch assembly from the vehicle.

Some prefer the "easier and less expensive method" by not having to remove the clutch or pay a mechanic. If we pay a mechanic we would not need this message board, especially if your 850 requires additional costly work and you are nursing it along for another year. Our government may pay us "4500.00 Dollars for these vehicles for trade-ins on US cars......
Your detailed responses would be appreciated-740gt
