Hi,
noticed few drops oil on garrage floor on passanger side. Found out that cooling liquid cap gave out black crease. Do I have oil in the cooling system and it modifies into black cream? Any known typical reasons for this?
The engine is not overheating as temp needle stays in the middle at all times.
No special occasions notifies what so ever in recent past - regular driving.

Hi,
I've got the car running again but propably will take thermostat out to be cleand for security as the indicator is different now.
Has anybody else got engine oil cooler leaking into coolant?
what else than bad luck might be causing this?

Hi,
it was engine oil in coolant, now flushed and oil cooler renewed by dealer.
Now the temperature indicator stays lower than before but rises if I turn cabin temp to max, if returned to typical the sensor indicator goes back to lower temp.
Thermostat and sensor cleaning needed? Any good adwise forward.

The engine should have been power flushed and cleaned at the dealer, it is the only way to get the oil film out of the coolant pockets that will not drain. You paid a lot of money for some trainee to replace the radiator. It also sounds like there is an air pocket in the system.
In the gasoline engines, coolant is always flowing through the heater core. The amount of heat supplied to the cabin is just regulated by vent flaps. The coolant temp sensor is not effected by turning on/off the heat, except when the blower fan helps cool the heater core.
As for the ECT sensor and thermostat, the ECT should have been cleaned and the thermostat replaced.

Hi,
the cream in coolant bottle was so scearing that I went for dealer to study the situation: in this D5 engine there is an engine oil cooler (16 plates) within coolant circuit to absorb heat. Now this oil cooler has a leak direct into coolant. Just poor quality and my bad luck.
I can only hope that new oil cooler element and flushing cooling and lubrication system with new coolant and oil is removing the problem and no additional harm caused so far as not much driving after identifying something is wrong.
Let's hope for the best.

Not for a 2005, it is too new. There should never be any leakage at the coolant overflow cap. Take off the cap and insert a strip of white paper, when you pull it out check for oil residue. There should be none.
If you suspect oil in the coolant, have the system pressure checked. Inspect the overflow bottle neck and cap for cracks, make sure the cap is on very tight.
It is possible to have a cracked radiator do this, but your car is too new.
