Cam Shaft Sensor Question 850

My car is not starting, and read other questions regarding the same problem. So I changed the cam shaft sensor. It did not start, had the car towed to the dealer, They are telling me it is the cam shaft sensor. Is there some electronic reset to tell the car that the sensor was replaced? Need any info A.S.A.P as the dealer is going to change the sensor on 1-12 and I am trying to avoid paying for a sensor from the dealer at $270 bucks.

thanks in advance
Ed
