Distributor location question on 940[900/1993] posted by Jim holst on

I was looking at the following '93 940 on ebay and noticed that the pictured engine had the distributor running off of the auxiliary shaft, not the rear of the camshaft. I thought all 740 and 940 B230 engines had the camshaft driven distributor. Anybody know more about this?

This is absolutely stock on this vintage of 940. I have no idea why Volvo switched back for a few cars. Maybe they were useing up 240 parts. --
