SRS fault isolation[900/1993] posted by Gary Cox on

My battery suddenly went completely dead in my 1993 940 Volvo. When I (properly) jumped off the car the SRS light came on and has stayed on even after I replaced the faulty battery. I have read the info about testing and possibly resetting the SRS, but cannot find any SRS test point near the cigarette lighter as described in the FAQ. Am I looking in the wrong spot? Any suggestions. I hope that I can clear the fault and the bad battery did not mess up the SRS system. Thanks. --

Not sure of the year they changed it but there are two possible locations for SRS test point. First, if there are two diagnostic test sockets at the left strut tower, socket B-5 is SRS. Accessing code and reseting is same as for check engine light. Other location is fusebox behind ash tray. There are 4 fuse holders across the front of the fuse box, some of these do not have fuses. The second from left woukld be SRS test point. It has a terminal on one side only. You plug in to this socket and ground it to read/ reset code. --
