Erik:

Your car has one rear transmission mount near the very back of the transmission. It is an easy job for someone with minimal mechanical ability to replace in less than an hour if all goes smoothly. You will need a ratchet and a couple of different size sockets (Can't exacltly remember the sizes. 13mm-17mm it think), some ramps or jackstands to elevate the front of the car safely, and a jack of some kind to hold the rear of the transmission up. Here is the procedure:

1. Elevate the front of the car and secure properly.

2. Place a jack of some sort under the tailshaft or pan of the transmission. Besure and use something like a block of wood or thick towel between the jack and the tranny to prevent any damage to the tranny. Raise the tranny up just a little to so its full weight is not resting on the mount\cross member.

3. Remove nut in the center of the cross member. This holds the tranny to the cross member.

4. Loosing the four bolts (two on each side) on the cross member that secure it to the frame. Besure at this point that the entire weight of the tranny is being suppported by the jack. Bad things could happen if the rear of the tranny is allowed to drop too far.

5. Once the cross member is free from the frame, lower it carefully and take to a work bench. Your should see the two bolts that hold the actual mount to the crossmember. Loosen them and the mount should come right out. Your might have to clean the cross member up a bit before you can see the bolts that hold the mount on. This part of the car can get really dirty form engint oil and road grime.

6. Instillation of the new mount is the exact opposite of removal. It will of course take a little coaxing to get everything lined up to start the bolts back in. However, unless your car is really out of wack due to a wreck, getting everything back in one piece should be straight forward.

7. Test drive and enjoy nice smooth noise free ride.

Good Luck. --
