Sensor in water pump housing.[700/1986] posted by Andy Brennan on

I have just aquired a 1986 Volvo 760GLE.
how can I tell by looking at the engine whether I have the B28 or B280 engine ? - I think it's a B28.
The sensor fitted in the water punp housing is also missing ( previous owner fitted new pump and lost the sensor ). Is this the Thermo time switch ? and does anyone have a part number for this ? Would this also cause the diagnostic code ( 2 flashes ) ?

Many thanks

Andy. --
