Temperature gauge still not working[850/1993] posted by Your Name on

OK folks I have done everything that I was told and I still have this problem

Problem: Temperature reads below zero, in other words dead. Once in a while it comes up but goes to 50% after about 2 minutes of driving. Then the gauge pretty much stays there.

What have I done:
Replaced thermostat
Replaced ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor)
Checked for loose connections underneath the drivers side.

What have I NOT done:
Drained coolant and put in new coolant. I live in the city, don't have a driveway or a garage, things get complicated.

What should I be doing next? HELP
