Remove the drums, then remove the back plates. If the halfshafts are tight put the drums on loosely, with the nuts on a few turns and use the drum as a slide hammer against the nut.

Why not save the whole axle, those early axles are starting to crack on the shockabsorber mountings? Worth saving if it is good.
