I have removed the controller assemble from the front of the dash, piece of cake. I opened the box up very carefully to inspect the ciruit board. I resoldered about 5 connections that appeared in need of help in the area of the number 10 lead in the southwest corner of the board, including the number 10. The ones that got the attension seemed to be starving for more solder, they were much thinner than the others, a little dirty and the material on the solder chipped away during the cleaning process.

After soldering I cleaned everything including the areas between the leads, took a small paint brush and doubled cleaned everything to make certain I did not have any residue.

Walked back to the car and Plugged it in ...............

and whala ................ COLD @#$%^ AIR !

Saved about 500.00 bucks

Took about 1 hour total, popped the radio out, the trim around the switch housing, unplugged the pluggs and took it to the laboratory, this only took about ten minutes.

The whole thing would have taken less time if I would not have taken that stupid cell phone with me ..................... because everyone and their dog seems to call when your doing brain surgery.

Cost involved included a new Radio Shack 15 W grounded soldering iron especially for circuit boards, soldering material and patience, total price about $12 bucks.

For those of you thinking about this make certain you have a real good light on the subject and keep everything clean, especially between the leads.

Everything works great, thanks for the data hope its helps others in the forum.

Thanks again

PS: For better results leave the phone in the house during brain surgery!
