Pulsair - Freeze up/idle problem[200/82] posted by Trevor Friesen on

My Canadian 82 240 GL B23E (CIS fuel inj) has pulsair - the EGR already bypassed and removed. The problem is that where the exhaust gases enter the air filter box, it condenses behind the air filter and inside the main air intake causing a serious reduction in airflow (ice the size of a baseball in the main intake behind the air filter). Keep in mind I live in a very cold climate in the winter. Do I need this pain-in-the-butt system or can I block it off at the mainifolds and continue to destroy the atmosphere. My car is rendered cold-weather-useless with the current system. ANY SUGGESTIONS? IS THE PULSAIR WORKING INCCORECTLY? --

There are two one way valves at the top of the pulsair manifold that the hose from the air cleaner box connect to. Either replace them or plug them. There should be no flow of exhaust back to the air box. --
