Well, I've got experience with a variety of 122s and a 69 164.
I'd guess that yours might be similar to one or the other.
The 164 uses little plastic buttons about 1/4" wide and 3/4"
long with a plastic pin about 5/32" diameter that drives in from
the outside and expands the pin in a 1/4" hole. If you can get
to the inside you can drive the pin back out. You remove the
chrome strip from the trim first with sort of a twisting motion
from one end or the other and can usually work it loose without
permanently bending it. (If you can't get the pin driven back
through, you can cut them off with a sharp knife, being careful
of the paint. Even if you save the button it may not be good
enough to use again.)
The 122 uses much larger wire clips that are about 3/4" square
on the outside and go through a 1/4" hole with the ends in an
"X" form. Usually have some kind of sealant on the inside.
You can usually just pull them out but if the sealant has gotten
hard you may have to remove it first. Be sure and re-seal on
reinstallation because they do leak.
I wish I knew more about the 1800s but since I haven't ever had
one it may be idle curiosity. What little I know is that they
have the same problems as other Volvos and a few more besides,
like Ed's frozen hood hinges.

You can follow George's advice about the 122 chrome. It should be the same for the front fenders, door, and the little bit behind the door.
The chrome spears over the rear fins are something completely different, and I've never actually removed them...??? I think they *might* use tiny little bolts that are a pain in the #$% to get at from inside the trunk.
The door handles are presumably bolted in from the insides of the doors. Should be easy to figure out after you get the door panels off. Be sure to remember how they hook up before you take 'em off!
Good luck!
