"850" emblem removal and replacement[850/1996] posted by ME on

I recently made upgrades to my 850 Turbo, and now I want to put the "R" next to it. But, the Volvo did not leave enough room to the right of the "850". How do I go about removing the "850" and checkered motorsport emblems, and what kind of adhesive do I use to replace them?

Thank you

To remove them, use a heat gun and a plastic utensil like a plastic putty knife or plastic razor blade (body shop item).

Being that those emblems are fairly cheap and definately don't re-install well IMHO with new double-sided tape, I prefer to just buy new emblems and install them wherever you want to (level of coarse). I think once you see what the tape looks like once removed, you won't want to try re-attaching the old one. Whatever you do, don't use superglue or epoxy because some day you might be sorry (like if you ever want to remove them again).
