Steve, got access to a '74 140? I did it on my '73. Now have tan leather '75 164 seats in it. Basically, what you do is unbolt the 240 rails from the seats and bolt them to the '74 140 rails, which will then go onto the body mounting points... The driver's seat will either need to have the 240 height adjustment mechanism modified to have slots for the stud holes, or you'll need passenger seat brackets for the driver's seat. I did the latter, since I was sorta lazy.
