Every 850 is different... My previous 1995 854 Turbo was much better in reliablility when it was totalled last year at 92k miles.

For the price I paid for this one, I don't have any complaint. It also seems to me that the 850s hold up real well on engine, AT, exhaust system, and suspension. Yes, AT is original and is as smooth as new (knock wood). Engine is completely dry outside (knock wood). Shocks and struts are original. So is muffler.

The items replaced under my ownership (from 158k to 185k miles):
- Timing belt & coolant pump (both done at 160k miles) $450
- Both link arm stops $80+
- Recharged AC a few times with cheap Kmart type sealant but still leaks (will be calling Cryochem soon)
- AT flushed with Mobil 1
- Switched to Mobil 1 oil and adopted 8k miles change interval
- Fixed stuck glove box $20+
- Fixed stuck antenna $20+
- Fixed sagging sunroof lining $0

Not yet fixed:
- AC
- Rocking driver's seat
- Recurring stuck throttle

I'm looking forward for the 300k miles medalion in 5 years. :)
