That IS a really good thought.
Also the radiator hoses themselves add stress to the end caps along with the 'hard' tranny fluid lines.
I've always recommended cuting about 2" from a section of each tube about 6" from their entry to the tank on the radiator and splicing in a section of hose in place of the cut out section. It's a shock absorber....really neat to see the lines vibrate after this is done....and all that vibrating was, before, transmitted to the tank.

Well, yes, but now the lines can vibrate freely (more freely), which means the possibility of stress cracking somewhere else.
The idea of isolating the plastic radiator tanks from stresses induced by engine motion deserves thought.
