Ford fuel pump works!!! cheap fix[700/1990] posted by Joe Stancampiano on

Fuel pump died on my 740 (B230F).Regina system. Dealer wanted $394.00 for pump/sender combo. When I took the pump out, it looked familar....Went into my old parts pile and had a pump from my old Ford Taurus (fuel sender was bad) and another from a 5.0 Mustang.. both looked like metal versions of the Volvo pump. Low and behold, they fit in the volvo mount. I used the Ford strainer (bigger than Volvo).and put it all back in. Car runs great and it cost me nothing..(it's been in for 300 miles) These pumps do flow much more fuel the the Volvo one, but excess is returned to tank anyway.
Hope this can help someone else
