Jim, I also use only dealer service, but I cant say enough good things about the dealer service dep.I use. I would never ever take my car anywhere else. Shop around for another dealer service dept. ASAP there are some very good ones out there.....but there are also very very bad ones. Any place that washes my car as part of a service, I avoid(I dont ask my car detail people to work on the engine either) .....my car is spotless when it goes into the service area, and I never seen as much as a finger print when I pick it up.

BTW: For a basic "LOF"(lube, oil, & filter)service my dealer has a sale(coupon needed) until 12/31 for $19.95 this includes the oil, oil filter, fluid top up, lube hinges etc., and 20 point inspection. I take in my own Mobil-1 5W30(winter weight), but I still pay the same price.

Just my .02¢, but people should be 100% sure they can get high quality service BEFORE they buy the car....and you dont have to have it serviced at the dealer where you buy it.....have it serviced at the best service dept. you can find in your area, and buy it from the dealer who gives you the best deal.
If I was not sure I could get quality service at a dealer I was willing to drive to, I would not have bought a Volvo.....OH I been going to the same dealer for almost 11 years now, and I dont let anybody else touch my car.
