Rear defrost messes up radio[XC/2000] posted by Lauren Poster on

I have found that if I have the rear defrost button engaged I get a tremedous amount of static on my radio. The service department at the dealership says this is normal. Never happened on any other car I've ever owned. Does anyone else have this problem? Has anyone found a way to fix it, other than turning off the radio? --

If you own a S/V 70, then take it to your dealer and have them check Tech-Net note 39-08 which addresses your exact complaint. It says that "in most cases, it's caused by a scratch in the grid" which is repairable.
