It's not suppose to be taken apart, but in really bad cases where I've seen them so oil saturated that they didn't click anymore (contacts stuck), I've drilled small holes in them (top and bottom), then sprayed brake clean or carb spray inside, let it soak for a while (or submerse it), then spray it out. They'll come back to life.
