There is a guide rail to help guide the window when lowering. It is towards the back of the door, very often a the stand off that a screw attaches to, brakes, and allows the guide rail to flop around when the window is up. A 25torx screw or a pop rivit nolds it in place. If you pop out the red door marker light you can see the rail, and in your case should be able to move it and create the noise you are hearing. You might as well get the part from the dealer if you are going to be taking the door panel off. --
