ECU container[850/1996] posted by Ivan on

Fellow enthusiasts,
An attempt to satisfy my curiosity has been thwarted. The plastic box which houses the ECU and TCU (and ?) on my R has a black-painted metal strap securing its lid. At one of the horizontal ends on top of the box, this strap has a fastener, like a bolt with a conical head, with a small flat portion at its peak, in which there is no opening of any kind to accept a flat/PK/Torx/? bit. It screws into a captive nut on a vertical portion of this strap that disappears between the box and the right side of the engine-bay. Haynes (to MY96) makes no mention of this strap. What is the appropriate tool to use to be able to peer inside this housing? Is it some kind of rubber friction device attached to a rotating shaft or is the strap secured from underneath?
TIA
Ivan
