and now for my wife's cars problems, rpms take off at idle[200/85] posted by will on

recently once my wifes 85 240 gets warm the idle zooms up until you have to cut the car off. the haynes book doesnt go into detail much about this fuel injection. she has the 2.2 right? any suggestions where to start?

the likely causes are either a faulty idle air control valve or loose connection at temp sensor under #3 intake runner.
The loose coolant sensor will cause it to run rich also. A faulty IAC valve can usually be found by whacking on the IAC valve when it is in the midst of one its high idle fits to see if the idle drops back to regular speed.
