Re: SC-811 Radio[200/All] posted by DrewSRX on

Hello,

The reason that there is a red light that flashes on the radio is that the SC-811 and other Volvo radio's have an anti-theft code feature on them. If the radio is removed from the car or the power supply cut off to the radio, an anti-theft code has to be entered into the radio before it will work. When you turn off the ignition on the car, the flashing red light warns people that the radio is anti-theft active. The light that flashes on top of the dashboard has nothing to do with the radio. This light is for people who have a Volvo Alarm Guard security system on their cars. It warns people that the car security system is armed. Hope this helps!
