Your car is a front drive car with viscous coupled rear drive making it All Wheel Drive. With this system the fronts will have to slip a bit for the viscous coupling to go to a high torque transmission mode and send appreciable torque to rear wheels.
The winter button should be ignored on AWD models as it works contrary to the viscous coupling.
The winter button function is to lessen the torque sent from engine through trans to wheels.
