Check the table for Volvo Fuel Injection ECUs at this site: http://www.atpelectronics.demon.co.uk/Catalogue/volvo.htm#Volvo Engine Management ECU. It looks like the 561 replaced the 556 going from 88 to 89 in the LH 2.4 system in both 240s and 740s. 561 appears to be the correct one for your car: 89-92 240 GLE/GLT 2.3 litre, and installing the 556 set it back one upgrade. 556s were used in 87-88 240s and 740s according to this table. There wasn't a 933 listed. --
