I've found that I can't remove mine unless i remove the speedo first because it's too deep.

Put you hand around the back of it and try to find the nuts (they're designed to be done by hand) and undo them. Remove the speedo cable and then remove the speedo, then the remainder can be done like the normal cluster.

On my RHD I turn the speedo face down turn it 90deg clockwise (looking above and then pull it straight out, but this my be different for LHD. --
