lower door hinge 'clicks' - any fixes?[200/1992] posted by xavier on

our newer '92 with very low mileage (so not much use) 1 owner (1 person family) only used the drivers door clicks twice when opening or shutting
it is definately the lower hinge that is doing it - open the door 1/3 click/ 2/3 click - I oiled/greased the hing but it still does it - I know the brace where our 245 with140 miles is quite worn but no clicks (they ar loud)
is the little gear supposed to be in a certain location ? , is the band just worn in a funny spot?
anybody know what I am talking about
thanks in advance

I had that on my '89. it is the 'U' shaped round piece that acts like a spring for those two rollers. It is hanging up in in seat in the door frame. The oil isn't getting between this spring and the door mount. You need to get in there with something small and push it away from where it is seated then get some oil/grease in there. This drove me nuts, you can see it hanging and them CLICK! it would jump a bit.
