Thinking of adding auxillary driving lamps to your 850?[850/'94] posted by Tony Giverin on

For those of you who don't have OEM fog lamps on your 850, but would like to add aftermarket alternatives in the future, take note...it's easy!
My goal was to have a complete OEM look/performance with the exception of the lamps. I purchased the OEM - switch, underdash harness, relay, and lamp harness...four parts totaling $145cdn. The first harness plugs into two awaiting plugs under the dash (easy to find), with additional tail plugging into the switch and another tail plugging into the relay. So far no tools required other then the #25 torx used to remove the underdash panel...the 850 is pre-wired with a harness that leaves the instrument panel and arrives at the front of the battery behind the left headlamp. Plug the lamp harness into it (the prewired harness has a dummy plug at the end, awaiting removal.)The lamp harness has a ground tail with a female spade plug on it. It plugs directly behind the battery onto a ground rail. The lamps then plug directly into the lamp harness. I tucked the lamp harness into the lower part of the spoiler using lock ties. Done! The lamps purchased are 55W halogen type using the standard H3 bulbs. The kicker was my wife (clearly not a car person) commented that she liked them! BTW, the switch illuminates and dims with the rest of the toggle switches...something I was not assuming was going to work... --
