replacing rotors[200/1988] posted by Lujo Bauer on

Is it necessary to disconnect brake lines from the calipers when removing them to replace rotors? I can't tell for sure from Bentley's description.... I'm replacing pads and rotors this week, and I'm trying to put off anything else till the weather warms up a little.

Thanks.

It is not necessary to disconnect the hoses. Loosen the two caliper bolts from behind the rotor. Hang up the caliper with a wire hanger (the one you get free from dry cleaning) attaching to the spring. Do not over tension, twist or do anything extraordinary to the hoses. If you do, you have to replace them.
