peter, first remove the main fuel pump fuse 7th fuse from the top. start the engine let it run untill it dies, this will remove the presure from the fuel line. then remove the bolts from the fuel pump cover, the fuel pump is connected to this cover by a bracket that wraps around the pump remove the input line at the rear of the pump then the outlet line at the front of the pump then remove it from the mounting bracket, oh yes before you disconect the fuel lines disconect the battery and the power supply to the pump after removing the presure in the fuel line. hope this helps. paul larter

Peter: After relieving pressure on the system, and removing the battery cables as Paul describes, I would then lift up the back seat and disconnect the fuel pump power supply wires (hot wire and ground wire). Disconnect the fuel line coming from the tank to the rear of the main pump, then also remove at least the first two brackets that hold the fuel line going from the fuel filter towards the engine to the bottom of the body. Then, when you remove the three bolts which hold the fuel pump cover to the bottom of the car, the entire assembly can be lowered to the ground without pulling on any lines or wires. The rest of the procedure is as Paul describes. Make sure you have a good check valve (on the discharge end of the main pump), change the fuel filter while you're in there, and get everything tight before you bolt it back up to the bottom of the car! Good luck. --
