The distributor on non-turbo 900's was moved on some of the engines in the 93-94 model years on Siemens system cars (formerly known as Bendix).
The distributor can be placed in either location as all cams have the ground slot for dist. drive on cam on B230 engines. The cyl heads all have the large hole for distributor but it is plugged on applications with distributor up front driven by intermediate shaft.
The dist location is not a clue that it has had an engine swap.
