99's use a cartridge filter in a spin-on canister in the same location under oil pan of the "white" motors. The cansiter is not a direct replacement for the normal filter as it is threaded on the side with an o ring seal on the the side of the canister.
The element has a more higher recoverability for waste oil than the conventional can filter.
