For some reason, these RWD cars have been prone to AM noise, to which Volvo has responded with two TSBs. The relevent one may solve your problem: they recommend a ferrite core around the antenna coax lead at the antenna and the radio. I also added an antenna filter and a power filter (both from Radio Shack) at the radio which helped but didn't completely eliminate the problem. --
