If you are using the volvo Group 39 manual for 1982...

1) Check pages 34-35 B21F CI/B21F LH-Jetronic....NO RESISTOR
2) Check pages 32-33 B21FT-Turbo/B23E Canadia...YES RESISTOR
3)Diagram off Starting Circuits on page 8-9 is GENERIC...not Item specific...

I also owned an 82 245 B21F ChryslerMPG WhiteCap SataniclyPossessedby ElectricalDemons...

No Resistor on the CI-MPG-Mopar setup..lots a crappy bosch wiring insulation tho..(hey now there ya go...sound familiar?)...
