Patrick,

I have a 1999 V70 and the service light just came on, so your message is just in time. I tried your procedure and after resetting the trip odometer several times and some experimenting I finally got the light shut off. Here's what finally worked for me.

1. Press trip odometer reset button.
2. Turn ignition to run (II) position.
3. Wait 10 seconds. Service light will start blinking.
4. Turn ignition to off position.
5. Release trip odometer reset button.

Thanks for saving me the effort of begging my dealer to shut off the service light.

Mark
