Need Help!!! I think the frequency valve on my V-6 is going bad. Does anyone know what it does or doesn't do when it goes bad?

The frequency valve regulates lower chamber pressure below the injector feed outlets in fuel distributor. If the frequency valve operating percentage goes up (open greater percentage of time) the fuel to injectors increases for the same measured airflow. If the frequency valve percentage goes down the fuel to injectors goes down.
The control of this valve is by the Lambda control unit reading the Lambda (oxygen) sensor and varying the duty cycle of the frequency valve. The frequency valve is literally a special electronic fuel injection system injector adapted to the hoses attached to the fuel distributor.
If you bump ignition sw to start position you should hear (and feel) the frequency valve buzz for approx two seconds.
If you sense that it is buzzing so slowly that you really can't hear it buzz, then the oxygen sensor lead may be grounded out or sensor is defective (unplug sensor lead and it should buzz audibly if this is the case).

If the CO is improperly adjusted (too rich) the same result of freq valve not buzzing can occur.
Also many other things can cause this.
If the freq valve doesn't buzz when you bump key to start pos then the lambda relay in central electric unit may be faulty or is not being signalled to operate due to some wiring fault.
