Does anyone know what the air or vacuumn lines in the outermost storage areas in the rear of the V70 wagon are for?

I was poking around looking for a din cable, and opened these areas, apparently not considered normal storage areas, and found a .5 inch od transparent tube mounted to the bottom of each area. ( rightmost and leftmost rear pop-up floor area.) Just curious.
