Engine oil analysis results[850/94] posted by Stephen on

I recently got the oil from my car analyzed but I have no benchmark with which to compare my results. Has anyone else done this and if so I'd be interested to see the results. Here are mine:

94 854T, 126 kkm, 8300km on oil, Mann filter, Canadian Tire (Pennzoil?) 5W30 Synthetic.

Aluminum 2 ppm
Cromium 0
Copper 7
Iron 14
Tin 0
Lead 1
Silicon 11
Molybdem 1
Ni 1
Ag 0
K 0
Na 18
Boron 0
Barium 17
Ca 1951
Mg 339
Mn 83
P 839
Zn 1210

No glycol, no water, 0% fuel, Viscosity @ 40C 53.2, @100C 9.6

The interesting part is the oil degradation. Total Acid Number of new oil is 2.9. Oil should be changed at about 5.8 but the results showed 3.3 which the guy at the lab said indicated the oil was almost new and I could easily run 20k km between changes. I'll stick to 8k km changes. Synthetic works.
