The u bent ends of the anti-rattle spring (ars) bear against the fixed caliper bracket. The bracket has two flat surfaces that face toward hub, these are the contact faces for the u bent ends of ars. The hook ends have to be pulled with a pair of pliars up to holes in the out side face of caliper behind back of pads. I wish I had the capability to send you a picture but I don't. It is driveable w/o these fitted as they are for noise.
