The add for the performance cam in the IPD catalog says that the cam is easy to install and takes only a couple of hours. Don't you have to pull the engine out of the car with an engine hoist. If it's something that I can do myself, I would like to, because the description of "sluggish" through the power band seems to describe my car. Besides that it runs great. Has anyone (aside from you certified mechanics out there!) tried this with good results?

Changing the cam on an OHC engine really is only a coupla hours. It's a great time to also install a new timing belt, tensioner, and front seals (if needed).
If you had the earlier B20 pushrod engine (last year in the US was '75) then changing the cam would be a much more involved project -- but still wouldn't require pulling the engine.

Sorry, I overlooked the other side of the coin.
You will probably need to adjust the valves after installing a new cam -- and that's more involved (than the earlier pushrod engine). Basically, you need the special tool for depressing the lifters and a full selection of replacement shims.
Not rocket science -- but does require specific equipment and supplies (whereas the pushrod engine was a simple turn-of-the-screw).
