These are not the new high energy discharge technology that costs several K$, but rather a standard halogen technology that uses Xenon for the discharge gas in the bulb. The Xenon gives a whiter light than the traditional halogen gas mix and provides more light output for the same power in. And yes, you can get them for your car. They are available in standard sealed beam units as well as replacement bulbs - H4, 9004, et. al. Prices are slightly higher than standard halogen bulbs. The 9004 series for my 745 were $9 each.
