Paul,
The flame trap is in a plastic housing on the fresh air hose that goes to the throttle body. The housing needs to be rotated to release it from the fresh air hose. The word coming from Volvo about 2 monthes ago is to remove the flame trap and leave it out of the holder. The flame trap is not used any more.
