I have recently installed a new B21E in my 245. Shortly after this the temp gauge failed and went to max. I am going to replace the voltage compensator, but in an effort to save some money, i want to test the temp sender.
I only have the resistance specs for a b23/230 which are 60C (140F)- 217+/-35 Ohms, 90C (194F)-87+/-15 Ohms.
If anyone could tell me if these are the same for the B21 I would be very grateful. I really do not feel comfortab;le driving a new motor with no temp gauge.

Before you dive in........ the temp gauge pegging to max is a classic sign of the wire shorted to ground. That wire goes under the intake manifold, near the fuel distributor, flaps around, and tends to get chaffed and abraded over the years 'n miles.
Check the wire while you're digging around.
